With COVID-19 forcing many countries to close their borders and order nationwide lockdowns, many pet parents are wondering how to keep their pets active and entertained. Aside from go-to activities like exercise, there are other fun things that you and your pet can do during the lockdown. Here are some of them!

Learn new tricks

If the lockdown allows you to go outdoors to train your dog, that’s great! But chances are, you’d be stuck indoors with your pet. You can take the chance to start teaching your dog some commands and tricks. Check out these quick and easy lessons: basicmoderateadvanced dog tricks.

Take note that behavioral training is best for dogs when they’re around 7 to 8 weeks of age. It’s advised to be gentle and have a positive attitude. Also, you should keep the training quick as they have short attention span. But you can gradually increase the training time as they age. Plus, you can teach them new tricks along the way.

Binge-watch movies

A couple of years back, Netflix did a survey where it came out that pets are the perfect companion to binge-watch your favorite series. According to Forbes, 58% of Netflix members said that pets are the best bingeing companions while 74% admitted that they’ve watched Netflix with their pets.

So take time to experience cuddlesome moments with your furkids during the lockdown period. Aside from prepping popcorns for yourself, prepare some of your pets’ favorite kibbles (we suggest Wishbone Graze for some meaty goodness) for them to snack on.

Play hide-and-seek

Here’s a fun activity to keep your pets active indoors. You can do it in two ways. If your dog or cat knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come, you can have your furkid look for you as you hide in the house.

You can also do a not-so-typical kind of hide-and-seek game. Simply have some of your furkid’s favorite kibble hidden all over the place. Be creative. You can have the kibble wrapped and hidden behind the couch. Or under the table. Or in someplace where your pet can conveniently find it. It’s a fun game where your pet can exercise his tracking capabilities. Our pets have a strong sense of smell. They’ll love looking for kibbles that smell so good with six different herbs like Wishbone.

Take fun photos and videos

What’s more fun than creating fond memories with your pet? With modern technology, we can keep those special memories through photos and videos! You can either take cute and silly selfies together or capture that new trick that your furkid just recently learned. You can even try to recreate safe and fun challenges for your pet like the invisible wall or a water bottle maze. Make things more exciting by sharing the photos and videos with your friends!

Eat like a gourmand

With more time on our hands, why not try to level up your cooking skills and create a gourmet meal for your loved ones? Make it more challenging by limiting the type of ingredients you use and plating the meal restaurant styleGive yourself plus points if you manage to prepare a meal that’s both healthy and tasty!

Don’t forget to let your pets join in the fun. For a hassle-free yet healthy choice, give your pets Wishbone pet food. Infused with the power of 8 superfoods – like basil, rosemary, peppermint, flaxseed, blueberries, cranberries, papaya, and mango — Wishbone is full of nutrients that can help boost your pet’s immune system despite the lockdown.
